Yoga is the newest method of athletic performance, yet is one of the oldest forms of exercise!
I began practicing yoga in high school and found it to be of great benefit for
- Improving flexibility. Increasing flexibility helps improve overall movement
skills, such as sprinting fast and changing direction.
- Improved recovery between games, practices and workouts allows you to
work harder, longer leading to increased performance
- Increased balance for those situations in your sport where balance is
needed
- Increased concentration, especially in critical moments in tough games.
- Improved posture will help eliminate possible injuries
- Increased strength and stamina
- Improved breathing techniques to keep you calm and composed on the
field and court
- Less overall stress so athletes can enjoy their lives outside of their sport.
Since I "retired" from my playing days, I have still kept yoga as one type of exercise I perform. With a strong belief and proof in my own results it can be a benefit to athletes, I have partnered with Pam Goff, a yoga instructor in the Macomb and Oakland County area, who will be teaching the classes.
I know those who attend will be amazed at the benefits they will gain from this program working with Pam.
All levels ages 12+ are welcome. In fact, I know of very few, if any, youth athletes who perform yoga at all! This is a great way to gain an edge over your competition. If you can't touch your toes, that's ok! You are still welcome. If you can put both feet behind your head, that's great too! You are welcome. All athletes will work at their own abilities.

Dates: Saturdays, 12pm-1pm
All classes will begin at 12 noon and last 60 minutes. All classes will take place inside the Premier Training Center, 51379 Quadrate, Macomb Twp, MI 48042
Cost: $120 for the 6 week camp.
